Kids Sewing Class Introduction

1. Course Goals / What Children Will Learn

Through a variety of sewing and craft projects, children will develop hands-on skills, concentration, and patience. They will also learn essential life skills that provide a foundation for future careers in fashion or related fields. The course emphasizes building confidence and supporting healthy growth.


2. Skills Students Will Master Upon Completion

  • Proficiency in various sewing and craft techniques

  • Ability to operate hand sewing and sewing machines

  • Mastery of cutting and basic pattern adjustment skills

  • Gradual development of the ability to independently create clothing and fabric crafts


3. Course Content and Schedule

  • The course aligns with the school terms, offered in three sessions:

    • Spring Session (January to March)

    • Early Summer Session (April to June)

    • Fall Session (September to December)

  • Each class lasts either 75 or 90 minutes

  • Course content is tailored to each child’s experience, ability, and interests, including projects such as dolls, bags, clothing, and other fabric crafts

  • A progressive teaching approach is used to gradually enhance students’ independence, confidence, and sense of accomplishment


4. Suitable Age Group and Prerequisites

  • Suitable for children aged 5 and above, up to high school students

  • Open to both beginners and those with some sewing experience


5. Course Fees and Materials

  • 75-minute class: 30 CAD per session

  • 90-minute clothing-making class: 40 CAD per session

  • Fees include all materials and tool usage

  • Stretch fabrics are provided for clothing projects; students needing other fabric types must bring their own

  • Classes use high-end, slow-speed desktop sewing machines (e.g., Baby Lock Jubilant) to ensure safety


6. Class Times and Location

  • Classes held on weekends and after school

     Our current schedule is: 

    • Tuesday: 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

    • Saturday: 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM / 12:45 PM - 2:00 PM

    • Sunday9:45 AM - 11:00 AM / 11:15 AM - 12:30 PM  / 12:45 PM - 2:00 PM

7. Make-up Classes and Attendance Policy

  • Up to two make-up classes allowed per semester

  • No refunds or make-ups beyond this limit

  • Missed classes must be made up during the semester; no extensions or refunds after the term ends


8. Trial Classes and Parental Observation

  • No free trial classes; single drop-in classes available at an additional charge

  • Parents are welcome to schedule visits or observe the studio environment outside of class times

  • Parental observation during classes is not allowed to maintain classroom order and focus

  • Progress and questions can be discussed with instructors after class


9. Registration and Important Notes

  • Registration available online or via direct contact

  • Limited slots available; once sold out, registration closes

  • No refunds, rescheduling, or extensions for missed classes

  • No class start reminders; please note your registration dates and time carefully


10. Sewing Camps Information

  • Camp projects vary weekly with no repeats, featuring different difficulty levels

  • Offered during spring, summer, and winter breaks

  • Discounts available for early bird registration, returning customers, and siblings (please inquire for eligibility)

  • Pro-D Day Camp Discounts:

    • Register for 2 days or 2 people: 5% off

    • Register for 3 days or 3 people: 10% off

    • Register for 4 days or 4 people: 15% off
      (Discounts applied automatically at checkout)

  • Only full-week registrations accepted; projects progress from simple to complex

  • Missed days must be made up during the camp session; no refunds or extensions afterward


11. Safety and Equipment

  • All activities supervised by professional instructors

  • Use of slow-speed, high-quality sewing machines suitable for children

  • All necessary tools and materials provided; no extra purchases required from parents
