Adult Group Sewing Class Description

Adult group classes are designed to accommodate individual needs. Each student may work on a different project during the same class, and the instructor will provide personalized guidance to each participant.

Project Options

Project options may include, but are not limited to:

  • Handcraft and accessory projects

  • Garment sewing

  • Clothing alterations

Fabric Policy

  1. Fabric for accessory and handcraft projects is provided by the studio.

  2. Knit fabrics used for garment projects are provided by the studio and are included in the class fee.

  3. For other projects or non-knit garments, students are asked to bring their own fabric. If you are unsure what is needed, please consult the instructor.

Machines and Equipment

  1. The studio provides sewing machines and a full range of standard sewing tools and accessories.

  2. Students may bring their own sewing machines, provided they are in good working condition. For safety and efficiency, the instructor does not provide repairs or instruction on personal machines.

Schedule & Pricing

  • Day & Time: Tuesdays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Duration: 180 minutes per class

  • Drop-in Class Price: $65 per class

  • Five-Class Package: $315 (includes 5% GST, all supplies included)

Five-Class Package Policy

  1. Enrollment in the five-class package does not require students to attend classes on consecutive Tuesdays.

  2. All five classes must be completed within six (6) months from the first class date to ensure progress.

If you enroll in the five-class package but do not have a specific project plan, we offer a suggested arrangement for your reference. You may choose to complete all or part of the projects, and the classes can be taken in any order.

Suggested Five-Class Arrangement for Beginners

  1. First Class – Tote Bag with Zipper Pocket

    • Learn the basics of using a sewing machine and how to install a zipper pocket.

  2. Second Class – Skirt or Shorts

    • Practice sewing with knit fabrics and learn techniques for handling hems.

  3. Third Class – Simple Clothing Alterations

    • Participants can bring their own garments for alterations, such as hemming pants. (Denim items are not recommended.)

  4. Fourth & Fifth Classes – Pajamas or Sleep Pants

    • Using knit fabrics, learn how to attach sleeves and finish necklines.

    Adult Class Schedule and Holiday Notice

    1. Regular Class Day: Tuesdays

    2. Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

    3. Holiday Schedule:

      • Adult classes are paused during school holidays.

      • Typical breaks include:

        • Summer holiday: July – August

        • Christmas period: one week before and after Christmas

        • Spring break: last two weeks of March

      • When school is in session, adult classes continue as scheduled.

    4. Class Updates:

      • If you are unsure whether a class is running on a particular week, please check the scrolling notice at the top of our website or contact us.

    Policies – Please Read Carefully Before Registration

    Refund and Cancellation Policy

    1. Refunds are generally not available, except in cases where the studio cancels a class.

    2. If you need to cancel your booking at least 1 week before the class, you may transfer your registration to another class or receive credit toward future classes.

    Adult Class Validity and Arrangements

    1. Validity Period: Once registered, the course is valid for six months. Students can freely choose their class times.

    2. Class Attendance Notice: Please notify the studio at least 48 hours (2 days) in advance if you plan to attend a class.

    3. Minimum Enrollment Requirement: Tuesday adult classes require a minimum of 2 students. If this requirement is not met, the class will be rescheduled to the following week.

    4. Class Cancellation Notice: If a class cannot proceed due to low enrollment or other unforeseen reasons, the studio will notify all registered students at least 24 hours in advance.

    Photo Permission

    For teaching and promotional purposes, the studio may occasionally take photos during classes, which may be posted on the studio website or social media platforms such as Red Book, Facebook, WeChat, and Instagram.
